This then became the main gateway into the Island after the war ended. A boutique tourism industry then developed to cater for visitors.

This tour takes in the most significant landmarks. You will be transported back in time with stories of the Polynesian Settlement, Convict Settlement and the Bounty Mutineer Descendants who settled the Island in 1856, bringing with them a language which is a mixture of old English and Tahitian and is still in use today.
Convict Heritage Tour
Visit the fortress–like Military Barracks and hear stories of the former occupants. Drive along Quality Row to view the elegant houses that provided quarters for military and civil officers. The heritage listed Convict Kingston area has the finest examples of Georgian Architecture in the Southern Hemisphere.
Bridal Track Coastal Walk
A great way to learn about the Island’s fascinating flora and fauna. There are 25 rare and endemic bird species which can be found in Norfolk Island’s subtropical rainforest and over the summer breeding season the island is home to a few migratory seabirds. Along the way you will discover the secret life of plants, a few which are found nowhere else in the world.
This moderate hike is well-paced and led by passionate local guides. A fabulous chance to stretch your legs, burn off a few calories, and sooth your soul as you immerse yourself in Norfolk Island’s pristine nature. You will find some great photographic opportunities as we wind our way from Red Road to Captain Cook’s landing place. Norfolk's Underwater World
This glass bottom boat, designed for passenger comfort and the environment, provide large viewing areas that are perfect for observing fish, coral and unique marine life. Norfolk’s’ coral lagoon boasts one of the most diverse marine life eco systems with over 100 fish and 70 species of coral. Tour guides, direct descendants of HMAS Bounty, show where the fish live and the habitats of the unique marine life.
