Overview
The Norfolk Island Veterans Golf Tournament is one of the most popular events on the Norfolk Island Golf calendar. The Veterans Golf Tournament is held annually each February and is open to anyone over the age of 50. There are three age divisions, 50 – 59, 60 – 69 and 70+ years.
It is run in a stroke / stableford format allowing those playing well to compete for the gross sections while everyone can pick up their ball in the stableford section and not be eliminated from the week’s competition. Gold, silver and bronze medals are up for grabs for the best gross scores from each age division. There’s also a huge array of prizes on offer in the stableford sections.
First of all, Monday’s welcome evening kicks the week off. Information relevant to the tournament plus the draw will be provided here. Golf is played on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday with morning and afternoon starts and a presentation held after the golf. Finally, Friday night sees a fantastic fish fry dinner cooked local style. This is also a presentation evening where the overall results from the three days will be presented. Because it is one of the major events, places fill up quick, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Overseas entries close 19th January 2025 if not sold out prior.
